We condemn the violence and dispossession in Palestine

As an art institution often supporting artists working on the long histories of colonial and settler colonial violence, we condemn the violence and the dispossession suffered by Palestinian people and families, and mark our solidarity.

Stream of Thoughts : artist talks & encounters accessible worldwide

Stream of Thoughts is a programme of encounters that accompanies the festival. Due to the pandemic and the growing collective awareness of the issues and disparities affecting different parts of the world, it has become clear that the conversations to be must have a global reach while also considering the various local contexts.

Dancing in a garden surrounded by flowers

The Japanese artist Ayaka Nakama welcomes us in a fictional garden

Rossella Biscotti - The Journey

The only invisible performance at the festival, echoing the hidden nature of what is going on in the Mediterranean Sea.

Frie Leysen Grant

We will start this year with an empty day: a day dedicated to Frie Leysen, who left us last autumn. Kunstenfestivaldesarts and deSingel - the arts center that founded Frie in 1980 - are jointly establishing a scholarship for emerging artists in her name: a tribute to Frie's commitment to always looking to the future rather than honouring the past.

Playing live for an audience at home
