It will have taken Mattew Stokes and Dirk Hendrikx, founder members of the artistic collective Maquette, seven years to complete their film seven years of perseverance and unquestioning energy. They present a poetic collage of these filmed stages. A radical mix of theatre, dance, poetry and plastic arts – the experimental Adrift on the remains of a grand piano comes from the amplified madness and grace of dreams. The work opens up unimaginable and silent worlds where surprise renders meaning pointless and where logic makes way for organic beauty and for the fascination of inverted time.
