Pylade is the tenth play the young French director Stanislas Nordey had directed. He is fascinated by actors and scripts. Again and again he coaxes from his actors a physical, almost sensual union between themselves and the words. Pasolini's Pylade is very much like a cruel farce, depicting the transformation of an archaic society into a democracy while playing on the impotence of contemporary democracies.
