HOT BODIES – CAMP has invited a group of young apprentice car mechanics to build a dwelling for a post-capitalist world in the shell of an old car. Starting with conversations in the group around notions such as “utopia”, “survival” and “ecology”, it is underpinned by the imaginary world of science fiction to deploy visions of what our future may look like. Fifth-grade students training to be car mechanics at the Institut Saint-Joseph in Etterbeek attended HOT BODIES – CAMP workshops in the spring. The last meetings, to finalise the fitting out of the car, will take place during the Free School. Come and see the result of these young people’s work for yourself in the form of an installation at Recyclart from 24 May.
