De eerste versie van de radio- en televisiespot van het Festival werd geweigerd door de VRT Televisie en de RTBF. Il pourrait bien y avoir un rapport tangible entre le colimaçon de l’oreille interne, la spirale du jeu de l’oie et le kunstenFESTIVALdesArts. Un rapport avec les sens, le sens, et le refus des sens uniques. Pour présenter notre 4e édition, nous avons choisi ce parcours de l’oie, un labyrinthe en spirale autour d’un espace central: Bruxelles. Entre le 9 et le 30 mai, vous seront proposées 28 manifestations artistiques dans 17 théâtres, cinémas et espaces d’exposition de la capitale: 28 entrées dans le jeu et, autour d’elles, les 13 obstacles de l’oie et 21 cases pour avancer. Vous atteignez l’entrée de votre choix, un artiste vous ouvre un monde. Chaque case peut communiquer avec une autre car le dédale a ses fils d’Ariane: les intuitions d’un projet global pour le Festival... Een verband tussen het zintuiglijke, de zin en zinloos eenrichtingsverkeer. Om de vierde editie van het kunstenFESTIVALdesArts voor te stellen, kozen we het parcours van een ganzenbord, dat een spiraalvormig labyrint rond Brussel legt. Tussen 9 en 30 mei worden u 28 artistieke evenementen aangeboden in 17 Brusselse theaters, bioscopen en tentoonstellingsruimten: 28 instappen tot het spel, 13 hindernissen voor de gans en 21 vakken om verder te gaan. Elke ingang voert u in de wereld van telkens een ander kunstenaar. Maar draden van Ariadne verbinden alle speelvlakken van dit doolhof: de gevoeligheden die dit Festival maken... A common theme links the spiral of the inner ear, the centuries-old “goose game” (similar to snakes and ladders) and the kunstenFESTIVALdesArts. A theme that unites sensibility, sense, and the nonsense of one-way traffic. The goose game is a boardgame in the shape of a spiral. Players start at the outer end and work their way towards the middle. Some squares are blank, which means you can continue towards your goal, others are obstacles best avoided. We have chosen the game to introduce the fourth Festival – and we have adapted it, making Brussels the centre square and endpoint. Between May 9th and 30rd, there will be 28 artistic productions in 17 theatres, cinemas and exhibition centres; 28 ways of joining the game, 13 obstacles to overcome and 21 blank squares. Wherever you choose to start, an artist will open up a world.
